INTRODUCTION

During one year I played Travian. I started on french s1, s3, and s12, dropping s1 & s12 after a while. On s3, I joined a small ally, the Dynasty Warriors 65th when I apointed. The server was alreaddy 6 months old, and the ally 6 weeks old. We won the French s3, finishing 5th ally. I personally finished Top70 (rank Off & Def).

As usual I wrote my own program to help me monitor what was happening on the server, usin daylly map file. Travin Monitor shows the localisation and evolution of each ally, player and village. Its so easy to guess who is active or not, compute travel times, view the relative powers at local, region or world scale... Really interesting to know each player's village population evolution over last weeks; maybe if he claims to be active when asking for ally membership...

As I played French server, I wrote this program in French. Anyways it's not so hard to understand its use.

INTRODUCTION

De juillet 2006 à juillet 2007, j'ai joué à Travian, sur les serveurs s1 et s12 vite abandonnés faute d'intérêt; et sur le s3. En arrivant sur un serveur déjà agé de six mois, j'ai eu la chance d'intégrer une alliance passionante, les Dynasty Warriors. Cette alliance était classée 65eme lorsque j'ai postulé, mais nous avons fin 5eme... et remporté le s3 ! Pour ma part, j'ai fini top70.

Comme souvent, j'ai vite éprouvé le besoin d'écrire un logiciel, Travian Monitor, pour exploiter le fichier quotidien map.sql. En stockant et exploitant ce fichier, j'ai pu observer l'évolution de chaque village, joueur ou alliance au cours du temps, et ainsi éviter beaucoup de mauvais choix. C'est vraiment utile de pouvoir visualiser localement, regionalement ou à l'échelle du serveur, les puissances relatives des joueurs ou alliances...
